The Edinburg Festival is a collective term of many arts and cultural festivals that take place in Edinburgh, Scotland each summer mostly in August. For the sure date of this year, this festival has been started since 9th of August until 2nd of September.
The Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) was established in 1947 in post-war effort to "provide a platform for the flowering of the human spirit" by Rudolf Bing, the General Manager of Glyndebourne Opera, Henry Harvey Wood the Head of The British Council in Scotland, and a coup of civic leaders from the city of Edinburgh.
The Founders had visions of a festival that could enliven and enrich the cultural of Europe, Britain and Scotland. The Founders also recognize that, if the festival succeeded in its artistic ambitions, it would create a major new source of tourism revenue of Edinburgh and for Scotland.
